My life has many extraordinary stories. I drove a rental car up from FL to NY, the night of September 11th, to work the first week our country was under attack at Ground Zero.
I served at the tsunami epicenter in Indonesia helping a Muslim young man rebuild his house. Our help imparted hope to his heart.
I comforted genocide victims in Rwanda, where 1.2 million died during the awful bloodbath of tribal warfare that reached into neighboring Burundi. During numerous visits to war-torn Africa I conducted leadership training seminars and went so deep into the "bush" there were some places I visited that had never before seen a white man.
During the 1999 war in East Timor (where over 250,000 have been killed over 20 years), I ministered to leaders in the devastated capital of Dili. Several months later the UN recognized East Timor as a new nation to be called Timor Leste.
After 9/11 I journeyed to Pakistan twice where I ministered to Muslims and Christians proclaiming a message of peace and reconciliation with God. I was very warmly welcomed and suffered no harm, though the first time I spoke publicly to large audiences I wore a bullet proof vest because of warnings of death threats.
I made numerous trips to Myanmar to speak to University students who were without proper education because the schools were shut down by the government. I visited several blackout regions, where foreigners are forbidden to travel.
I lived in India for 9 months and have visited the great country 5 times, traveling throughout many remote villages and cities where I delivered a message of hope. I was privileged to speak to entire schools and large audiences of precious children, whom I encouraged to live their dreams!
